The Ohio AGD believes very strongly in advocating for the general dentist on a local, state and national level. The Ohio AGD is the ONLY organization whose primary focus is the general dentist. It is imperative to the advancement of our profession, that AGD members stay informed about upcoming topics of interest.
- Dental Therapists
The ODA successfully apposed this bill during the 131st General Assembly. The bill expired without a vote at the end of the session.
- Uncovered Services
Preventing insurers from setting fees for uncovered services: the ODA bill had bi-partisan support, but expired without a vote at the end of the session.Delta is among the opposition to the ODA on this bill.
- Drug License
Terminal Distribution of Dangerous Drugs License: this bill passed and was signed into law.
- Dental Medicaid Funding
Forecast for the 132nd General Assembly: The ODA is monitoring the Ohio Budget Bill to protect and improved Dental Medicaid funding and to protect against sales taxes on dental services.
- Removing Barriers to Care
The AGD is dedicated to providing nondiscriminatory access to quality dental care, correcting the misdistribution of care that currently exists.

Independent midlevel providers are dental auxiliaries who work outside the dental team and without dentist supervision, accepting responsibility for patient diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of dental services.
